What does Go Motion Blur replace?

The pair of Optical Flow and Vector Motion Blur nodes. Optical Flow is built to retime footage, where one wrong pixel tears a frame. Motion blur spreads its answer over dozens of pixels, so it does not need that precision. Go Motion Blur asks a smaller question, and answers it much faster.

How fast is it?

On one 4K frame of an animated text title, the Optical Flow plus Vector Motion Blur pair took about 12.4 s in Resolve, and Go Motion Blur took 4.45 ms.

Measured in September 2026 on an NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti. The Resolve figure is the cold render time of the two nodes in a Fusion composition; the Go Motion Blur figure is the median of seven renders of the same frame, measured outside Resolve. Real footage in Resolve is still being validated.

Which controls does it have?

Two. Shutter Angle is how long the virtual shutter stays open, in degrees, defaulting to 180°, the film standard. Quality is Draft for playback, Normal for delivery, or High for fast motion across fine detail.

What machine do I need?

Windows and DaVinci Resolve, which is sold separately by Blackmagic Design, with an NVIDIA graphics card: Go Motion Blur is built on CUDA.

When can I buy it?

Not yet: Go Motion Blur is not on sale, and its price is announced at launch. Write to contact@getgoatlas.com and we will tell you when it is ready.
